Main Job Description
Jungle School is looking for a passionate and creative 6th Grade Homeroom Teacher who will teach all subjects except math to our dynamic and energetic students. Our approach to learning is hands-on, interactive, and immersive—lessons should feel like an adventure rather than a lecture. We believe that the best teachers are not just educators but also role models who inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning.
If you believe that a noisy, engaging, and laughter-filled classroom is the best learning environment, you might be exactly who we are looking for!
Key Responsibilites
Classroom Learning & Student Engagement
-
Teach English, Science, Social Studies, and Health to 6th-grade students using interactive and engaging methods.
-
Design lessons that feel like play—using storytelling, role-playing, hands-on experiments, and creative projects to bring learning to life.
-
Keep lectures short (maximum 5-10 minutes at a time) and ensure students are always moving, talking, and interacting with their environment.
-
Maintain a fun, engaging, and structured classroom where students are encouraged to be active participants in their own learning.
-
Foster a love of learning by modeling curiosity, silliness, and a sense of wonder.
Lesson Planning & Assessment
-
Create weekly lesson plans and activities that align with Jungle School’s curriculum and teaching philosophy.
-
Develop and administer meaningful assessments that allow students to demonstrate learning in creative ways.
-
Write detailed and insightful report cards that focus on student growth and strengths rather than just grades.
-
Adapt lessons and materials to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
Beyond the Classroom
-
Plan and facilitate special projects, themed activities, and school-wide events that make learning exciting and immersive.
-
Communicate regularly with parents about student progress, classroom activities, and important school updates.
-
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
-
Maintain a classroom environment that is organized, welcoming, and filled with student work.
Time Management & Flexibility
-
Teachers have no required office hours after school, but must manage their time efficiently to ensure all lesson plans, supplies, and activities are ready in advance.
-
Teachers may prepare games, activities, or thematic projects at home as needed.

What We’re Looking For:
-
A teacher who believes that learning should be fun, active, and student-centered.
-
Someone who connects with kids on a personal level, making them feel seen, valued, and inspired.
-
A creative thinker who can turn any subject into an engaging experience.
-
Strong classroom management skills to keep the chaos productive and the learning structured.
-
A team player who is willing to collaborate with other teachers and contribute to Jungle School’s unique learning environment.
General Requirements
-
S1 degree in Education, English, Science, Social Studies, or a related field.
-
Experience teaching upper elementary or middle school is a plus.
-
Fluent in spoken and written English (active and passive).
