Main Job Description
Jungle School is seeking dynamic, passionate, and creative educators to be part of our innovative, experienced-based high school program. Our curriculum is designed to integrate subjects into real-life applications through hands-on projects, entrepreneurship, and global perspectives.

As a High School Teacher, you will not only be responsible for delivering subject content but also for guiding students through a holistic, goal-oriented learning experience. You will act as a mentor and homeroom teacher, ensuring students stay on track, develop essential life skills, and take ownership of their education.

Job Responsibilities
​
1. Teaching & Instruction
-
Deliver engaging lessons that align with our experience-based curriculum.

Design interactive, hands-on activities to reinforce academic concepts.

Use a variety of teaching methods, including role-playing, simulations, group discussions, debates, case studies, and games.
-
Integrate entrepreneurial thinking, global awareness, and real-world problem-solving into lessons.
-
Ensure students meet both Indonesian and international academic standards.

2. Project-Based Learning & Student Guidance
-
Guide students in School-Determined Projects (structured real-world projects designed by Jungle School).
-
Support students in Student-Determined Projects, helping them identify their passions and create projects that align with their career and academic goals.

Help students develop skills in goal setting, time management, self-discipline, and problem-solving.
-
Encourage students to research, analyze information, and present their findings effectively.

Provide 1-on-1 mentorship sessions to discuss progress, challenges, and personal development.

Do your own research to ensure you are prepared for every meeting. As the teacher and guide, you must have something to offer and must always be ahead of your students in the thinking and planning process.

3. Student Engagement & Classroom Culture

Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative learning environment.

Act as a role model, demonstrating integrity, curiosity, and a growth mindset.

Build strong relationships with students and help them develop social-emotional skills.

Encourage students to think independently, take initiative, and embrace challenges.

4. Creative Curriculum Development

Adapt and create innovative lesson plans that make learning fun and meaningful.

Use real-world scenarios and project simulations to reinforce learning.

Incorporate technology, media, art and hands-on experiences into the curriculum.

Stay updated on educational trends and best practices in project-based learning. Consult new ideas with your principal to ensure that they are inline with Jungle School vision and mission.

5. Collaboration & Professional Development

Work closely with other teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects.

Participate in regular staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops.

Maintain open communication with students, parents, and school leadership.

Be flexible and adaptable, adjusting teaching strategies to best support student needs.

General Requirements
1. For this position we are looking for a man or woman who has experience with children. Bonus points if you have your own kids or younger sibling and have experience with 15-19 year olds.
​
2. Applicants must have at least an S1 degree. A degree in education is preferred.
​
3. Minimum of 2 years teaching at a high-school level is required.
​
4. Teachers must be willing to live full time in Salatiga.
​
5. Applicants must have, and continually upgrade, the skills listed below. It is a teacher's job to keep their skills and knowledge upgraded independently, outside of any additional training provided by Jungle School.
​
